  • Dahon and REI Novara Folding Bicycles Recalled Due to Fall Hazard: This recall involves model year 2008 Dahon and REI Novara folding bicycles. The models included in the recall are as follows: Dahon Ciao P8, Curve D3, Curve SL, Glide P8, Jetstream P8, Mu P8, Mu P24, MU SL, Mu XL Sport, Vitesse D7 HG, Speed D7, Speed P8, Speed TR, Speed Pro TT, Mariner D7 REI Novara Buzz Flyby and Flyby Shuttle. The words "Dahon" or "Novara" and the model name are printed on the bicycle. The hinge on the handlepost can crack, posing a fall hazard. Hinges with an "R" embossed on the face of the upper handlepost hinge and/or a "Radius Handlepost" sticker on the handlepost are not included in the recall.   • Biosite Brand Triage Cardiac Panel: THIS IS A CLASS 1 RECALL - involving a test used by health professionals as an aid in the diagnosis of a heart attack. The use of the affected lot may lead to false negative results with patient samples containing troponin I at very low levels, with CK-MB, and with myoglobin, possibly resulting in missed or incorrect diagnosis. A false negative test result would indicate that a person has not had a heart attack or heart muscle injury when in fact they have. This recall involves Lot Number W44467B, distributed between January 24, 2009 and February 17, 2009.
  • Cannondale Recalls Bicycles: Cannondale Bicycles with JD suspension forks. The recalled bicycle's fork can lose alignment causing the front wheel to turn unexpectedly. This can cause the rider to lose control of the bicycle and crash. The recall involves model year 2008 Cannondale Adventure 2, Adventure 3, Adventure 2 Feminine and Adventure 3 Feminine bicycles. The model name is printed on the bicycle's frame. The bicycles have a suspension fork with the words "Cannondale AT35 Adventure Trail" printed on them. Bicycles equipped with the Rock Shox i-ride fork are not included in the recall.   • CARS Fleece Clog Children's Shoes: This recall involves the Buster Brown & Co. "CARS" fleece clog children's shoes. The shoe is a red plastic molded clog with fleece lining and is designed to resemble a car. They were sold in infant sizes 4 to 6 and toddler sizes 7 to 11. The infant-size shoes have a strap on the back. Each side of the shoe has two red and black decorative wheels and the number "95". "Buster Brown & Co." and "Disney" are printed on a tag sewn inside the shoe. The wheels can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.     Nautilus Recalls Bowflex(r) Home Gyms Due to Risk of Injury

    WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

    Name of product: Bowflex(r) Ultimate 2 Home Gyms

    Units: About 78,000 (about 68,000 home gyms were recalled on December 6, 2007)

    Importer: Nautilus Inc., of Vancouver, Wash.

    Hazard: The home gym's horizontal seat rail is designed to be latched in a vertical position for storage. If the seat rail is not manually latched, it can fall unexpectedly on the user or a bystander, posing a risk of serious injury.

    Incidents/Injuries: Nautilus has received 18 reports of injuries caused by unlatched seat rails that have fallen, resulting in head and shoulder lacerations, some requiring stitches or staples.

    Description: This recall involves the Bowflex(r) Ultimate 2 Home Gyms. The home gyms are equipped with pulleys, resistance rods, and other equipment, which allow the user to perform a variety of exercises. "Bowflex Ultimate 2" is written on the vertical part of the frame.

    Sold at: Specialty fitness retailers nationwide and through direct Nautilus sales from June 2005 through January 2009 for about $2,300.

    Remedy: Consumers may continue to use their home gyms for exercising, but should not place the seat rail in the vertical (storage) position until the repair is performed. Registered owners are being sent a free repair kit. Owners who have not received a repair kit by March 10, 2009 should contact the firm.

  • Norco Recalls Bicycle Frames Due to Crash Hazard: The bicycle frame can crack and separate, causing a rider to fall from the bicycle and suffer injuries. The recalled bicycle frames include the following model year and model names: 2007 Team DH, 2008 Team DH, Aline Park, Aline, Atomik, Shore 1,2,3, 2009 Atomik (without gussets). All colors are included in the recall and the model name is printed on a decal on the top tube of each frame/bike.   • Respironics, Inc., SmartMonitor 2 Infant Apnea Monitor: This recall involves Models 4002 and 4003 with serial numbers 3000033364 through 3000038740. This device is used for the continuous monitoring of respiration and heart rate of infant patients in the home or in the hospital. The monitor detects and alarms for periods of temporary interruption of breathing or low heart rates. This device may fail to sound an alarm. Contact the company at 1-888-345-4630. THIS IS A CLASS 1 RECALL. This type of recall is the most serious and involves situations in which there is a reasonable probability that use of these products will cause serious injury or death.
  • Ross Stores Recalls Folding Patio Chairs Due to Fall Hazard: This recall involves folding wooden patio chairs made of eucalyptus. SKU 400037791757 and manufacturer style number KTOC-1638-ROS are printed on a hangtag attached to the chair. The side supports on these chairs can splinter when weight is placed on them, posing a fall hazard. Sold at Ross Stores nationwide in February 2009 for about $50.   • Toaster Oven/Broilers Recalled by Haier America Due to Burn or Electrical Shock Hazard: This recall involves toaster/broiler ovens with model number RTO1400SS. The units are stainless steel and black plastic. "Haier" is printed on the front and the model number is printed on a label on the back of the toaster oven/broilers. Sold at mass merchandisers and specialty retailers nationwide from September 2006 through January 2009 for approximately $20 to $40.

  • Trek Recalls Bicycles: The recalled bicycle's fork can lose alignment causing the front wheel to turn unexpectedly. This can cause the rider to lose control of the bicycle and crash. The recall involves model year 2009 Trek 7300, 7300WSD, and 7500 bicycles. The model name is printed on the bicycle's frame. The bicycles have a suspension fork with the words "Bontrager SPA" printed on them. Sold nationwide between August 2008 through April 2009.   • Women's Shoes Recalled by Walmart Due to Fall Hazard: This recall involves women's sling-back, pointed-toe shoes sold under the George brand. The shoes were sold in black, grey and purple and in sizes 5 1/2 through 11. Sold exclusively at Walmart from June 2008 through December 2008.
